Our readers are based across several continents. We apply the same safeguards to all of them, regardless of where they live: those described below.
This website does not collect any personal data simply by viewing its pages. You only provide us with data if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, write to us via the contact form, or create an account on the Wiki.
When you subscribe, we collect your email address, as well as your first name and surname if you choose to provide them — these are optional. This data is used solely to send you Bolong, which is published quarterly, and the occasional communications relating to the Pluriversité’s activities.
Subscription is based on your express consent, given when you enter your email address. You may withdraw your consent at any time: every email contains a working unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing will result in your email address being removed from our list.
Some people receive Bolong because they are part of the Ateliers’ network or that of our institutional partners. This context is highlighted in every email, and the unsubscribe link is included in the same way.
The newsletter is sent via Brevo, a company incorporated under French law whose servers are located in the European Union; Brevo acts as a data processor on our behalf and does not use your data for any other purpose. Brevo records the number of times our emails are opened and the number of clicks on links contained within them; we use this information solely to determine whether the newsletter has been read, and it is not used for any individual profiling.
Your data is retained for as long as you remain registered with Bolong. It is deleted as soon as you unsubscribe, or upon your request sent to contact@pluriversite-africaine.com.
When you write to us, we receive your email address, your name and the content of your message. This information is used solely to reply to you. It is retained for twelve months after the last exchange, then deleted, unless our correspondence leads to an ongoing working relationship.

This website does not use any advertising cookies, third-party trackers or behavioural tracking tools. It does not measure its audience. Only technical cookies necessary for its operation are stored, in particular to maintain your session whilst you are logged in.
The website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd, 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. The newsletter is sent from servers located in the European Union. Our email addresses are managed by Infomaniak, a company incorporated under Swiss law whose servers are located in Switzerland.
These service providers are based in countries whose legislation ensures a recognised adequate level of protection for personal data. None of your data is transferred to a country that does not offer equivalent safeguards.
We do not sell, rent, transfer or exchange your data. We do not pass it on to any third party for commercial or advertising purposes. We do not contribute it to any dataset intended for training artificial intelligence models. This website does not display any adverts.
You have the right to access your data, to have it rectified, erased or restricted, to object to its processing, and the right to data portability. You may withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise these rights, please write to contact@pluriversite-africaine.com; we will reply within one month at the latest.
If you feel that your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with the Senegalese Data Protection Commission (cdp.sn). If you are resident in the European Union, you may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your country of residence.
Certain pages, notably Résonances, Moya Station and Mabousso Station, contain links to websites, streaming platforms or media outlets that we do not edit. As soon as you follow one of these links, you leave our site and come under the privacy policies of those services, over which we have no control.
This policy may be amended to reflect changes to the website or to regulations. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this document.
The data processing operations described in this policy were the subject of a declaration filed with the Senegalese Data Protection Commission (CDP) on 20 August 2026, in accordance with Article 18 of Law No. 2008-12 of 25 January 2008. This declaration is currently under review; the receipt number will be included here as soon as it is issued.
In the meantime, online registration for the Bolong newsletter and the creation of accounts on the wiki are not available. The wiki is accessible in read-only mode.
